#027 05-05-81 Authorize Sale of Property42 Resolution # 27 May 5, 1981 EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETI?G OF CITY COUNCIL CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY, HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the city of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, was duly held at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said city on the 5th day of May, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. the following members were present: Anderson, Johnson, Mitchell, Stockman and Thorsen. and the following were absent: None Member Johnson introduced and read the following written resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION ( Determining that certain public property is no longer necessary for public purposes and authorizing the sale thereof) WHEREAS, it appears that a certain parcel of land of 1.5 acres in area, more or less, located at 1001 North Lilac Drive, Golden Valley, Minnesota, heretofore used as a location for a fire station (fire station No. 2) which is no longer being used and which has been now terminated and closed, is no longer needed for public purposes, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, upon and following due inquiry by it into all the facts and circumstances made, does hereby adjudge and determine that the following described parcel of land is no longer needed for public purposes: Commencing at a point on the East line of Government Lot One (1) in Section Thirty- three (33), township One Hundred Eighteen (118), Range Twenty -One (21), 835.9 feet South of Northwest (NE) corner of said Section Thirty-three (33), thownship One Hundred Eighteen (118), Range Twenty-one (21); thence South 217.8 feet along East line of said Section Thirty-three (33); thence West at right angles to said East section line a distance of 333.0 feet; thence at right angles North 217.8 feet; thence at right angles East 33.0 feet to point of beginning. WHEREFORE the City Manager is authorized to sell the above-described property pursuant to advertisement for sealed bids and proposals, and the Mayor and City Manager are further authorized and directed to prepare an executed deed for all of said property as described above to the successful bidder as determined by and at the conclusion of the said. sealed bidding process as described above.
