RESOLUTION
REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR 1930-81 LOCAL PLANNING ASSISTANCE
GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has prepared a comprehensive plan in
compliance with the requirements of the 1976 Metropolitan Land Planning
Act, Section 473.851 - 473.872 of the Minnesota Statute; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act stipulates submittal of local
comprehensive plans to the Metropolitan Council by July 1, 1980, and
distribution to adjacent governmental units and affected school districts
for review and comment at least six months prior to submittal to the
Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Council granted the City of Golden Valley a one year
extension to the submittal deadline to July 1, 1981, in accordance with
the extension provision in Section 473.869 of the Minnesota Statute; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley will forward the City's Comprehensive Plan
both to adjacent governmental units and to the Metropolitan Council no later
than July 1, 1981, but will not complete the required adjacent governmental
unit review period prior to July 1, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has determined that the Golden Valley
share of the 1980-81 Local Planning Assistance Grant funds is $5,267; and
WHEREAS, revisions to the 1980-81 Local Planning Assistance Grant Guidelines
specify that in order to retain eligibility for 1980-81 Local Planning Assistance
Grant funds, a local unit of government must submit its comprehensive plan to
the Metropolitan Council no later than July 1, 1981; and
WHEREAS, Section XIII of the 1980-81 Local Planning Assistance Grant Guidelines
authorizes the Metropolitan Council Chairman to grant time limit extensions
of up to 120 days in hardship cases;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY,
that the City requests a 120 day extension of the time limit for eligibility
for 1980-81 Local Planning Assistance Grant funds.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by member
Mitchell and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Mitchell, Stockman and Johnson, and the following voted against the
same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed
by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy Clerk.
