RESOLUTION
June 16, 1981
AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF GOLDEN VALLEY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO ADJACENT GOVERNMENTAL
UNITS AND AFFECTED SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT AND TO THE METROPOLITAN
COUNCIL IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF THE METROPOLITAN LAND PLANNING ACT OF 1976
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act of 1976 requires that local units of
government prepare comprehensive plans in accordance with Laws 1976, Chapter 127,
Sections 1 to 23 and the applicable planning statute and submit the plans to
the Metropolitan Council for review pursuant to Section 473.175 of the Minnesota
Statute; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has prepared an updated Comprehensive Plan in
compliance with requirements of the Metropolitan Land Planning Act; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Planning Commission on March 9, 1981, held a public
hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Plan in accordance with Section 462.355
Subdivision 2 of the Minnesota Statute; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Planning Commission has approved the City's Comprehensive
Plan and the City Council has considered but has not granted final approval of the
Comprehensive Plan;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY,
that the City Council authorizes submission of Golden Valley's Comprehensive
Plan to adjacent governmental units and affected school districts for review
and comment and to the Metropolitan Council for review as required by the
Metropolitan Land Planning Act of 1976 and Section 472.175 of the Minnesota
Statute.

The Motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by member
Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Johnson, Stockman and Mitchell, and the following voted against the
same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed
by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
