COMMUNICATIONS/DISPATCH SERVICES WITHIN HENNEPIN COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has reviewed and analyzed the draft
report on Communications/Dispatch Services prepared by the Hennepin County

WHEREAS, the draft report recommends that the "Hennepin County Board of
Commissioners should establish a policy that emergency communications and
dispatch is most appropriately a County function and responsibility;" and
WHEREAS, the County draft report suggests that cities providing their own
communications/dispatch services should be taxed for the County providing system
in addition to the costs of providing their own system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Golden Valley appoints Mayor
Thorsen, Member Mitchell (alternate) and Jeff Sweet to participate on a

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Golden Valley takes great
exception to the draft County report and requests the committee established in
