adoption and
moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION FIXING GENERAL
WAGES AND
SALARIES FOR 1983
WHEREAS, the City Council had discussed
at
length proposed
salaries
and
wages for both classified and unclassified
City
personnel as respects
the
calendar year 1983;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by
the City
Council of the
City of Golden
Valley that it hereby adopts the following
general
wages and salary
schedules
for the year 1983, said schedule to commence for
work performed
by the personnel
named herein effective for the pay period
starting
December 27,
1982.

And, be it further resolved that:
1. The dollar amount of the City's contribution to all Office, Technical and
Clerical employees for health and life insurance be changed from the current
$105.00 per month to $125.00 per month.
2. The amount of the City's contribution to all supervisory personnel be changed
from the current $146.72 per month to $162.44 per month, which is an average
of the 4 plans, excluding Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
3. Section 2.11 of the Employees Handbook be revised to provide for payment of
1/3 of unused sick leave upon termination, instead of the current 20%.
4. Section 2.03.1 of the Employees Handbook be revised as follows:
Vacation Schedule 0 to 5 years 2 weeks
6 to 10 years 3 weeks
11 years 3 weeks plus 1 day
12 years 3 weeks plus 2 days
13 years 3 weeks plus 3 days
14 years 3 weeks plus 4 days
15 years 4 weeks
16 years 4 weeks plus 1 day
17 years 4 weeks plus 2 days
18 years 4 weeks plus 3 days
19 years 4 weeks plus 4 days
20 years 5 weeks
5. Section 2.02.3 be revised as follows:
2.02.3 Other Insurance Available
Supplemental insurance is available through Franklin Life Insurance
Company and Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company. An employee
may utilize up to 3% of their base pay to purchase insurance from
these companies.

6. Section 2.03.3 Holiday Leave be revised to add Good Friday off as a holiday
and to delete Columbus Day as a holiday.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Mitchell and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Mitchell, Stockman and Thorsen, and the following was
absent: Johnson, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and
her signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
