84-053 - 05-15 - Approve Mary E Anderson President League of MN Cities 1984-1985Resolution 84-53 May 15, 1984 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING MARY E. ANDERSON AS PRESIDENT OF THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES FOR THE TERM 1984-1985 WHEREAS, Adrian Herbst has indicated that he will not be a candidate for President of the League of Minnesota Cities this year; and, WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Cities needs a President who has demonstrated an ability to work with many various points of view and interest groups; and, WHEREAS, Mary E. Anderson, Mayor of Golden Valley, has been approached to submit her name as a candidate for the President of the League of Minnesota Cities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley at the Council Meeting of May 15, 1984, that we heartily endorse Mary Anderson as a candidate and pledge to provide her any and all support necessary to see that she successfully serves as League President for the 1984-1985 term. We believe Mayor Anderson to be an eminently fair and diligent elected official with extensive experience in both local and metropolitan activities, qualities which will be essential for the League President in guiding the organization through the difficult year ahead. t ary E. derson, Mayor ATTEST: J d Nal Deputy #ity Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Stockman and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was.declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
