85-024 - 03-05 Authoirze Purchase Walkway and Trail EasementResolution 85-24 March 5, 1985 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR WALKWAY AND TRAIL EASEMENT WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire the easement hereinafter described for walkway and trail purposes; WHEREAS, the acquisition of said easement through direct purchase or condemnation appears to be desirable and reasonable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, that the land hereinafter described be acquired by purchase or condemnation, and the Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and to execute all necessary documents in connection with the acquisition of said easement, to -wit: That part of the west one-half (1/2) of the northwest one-quarter (1/4) of Section 19, Township 29, Range 24, as described in Deed Document Number 4921378 as filed in the office of the Hennepin County Recorder, Hennepin County, Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event the above-described easement cannot be acquired by negotiated purchase the appropriate officers of the City described above be authorized and directed to commence the appropriate condemnation proceedings; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of the above-described land is necessary and desirable, and the purposes aforesaid for which said land is to be acquired are proper and necessary public purposes.
