Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE
OR CONDEMNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR STREET,
RIGHT-OF-WAY, DRAINAGE AND UTILITY PURPOSES
WHEREAS, it appears that it is necessary and desirable to acquire the
property hereinafter described for street, right-of-way, drainage and utility
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of said property through direct purchase or
condemnation appears to be desirable and reasonable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley that the land hereinafter described be acquired by purchase or condemnation,
and the Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby authorized
and directed to take all necessary steps and to execute all necessary documents
in connection with the acquisition of said property to -wit:
That part of Lot 11 lying southerly of a line parallel with and 905.02 feet
south of the north line of Lot 9 except road, Busch's Golden Valley Acres
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event any of the above-described property
cannot be acquired by negotiated purchase, the appropriate officers of the City
described above be authorized and directed to commence the appropriate condemnation
proceedings; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the acquisition of the above-described land is
necessary and desirable, and the purposes aforesaid for which said lands are to
be acquired are proper and necessary public purposes.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson and Stockman; and the following was
absent: Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and
her signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
