85-097 - 10-01 Authorize Public Safety Department Stated Owned Houses Training PurposesResolution 85-97 October 1, 1985 Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GOLDEN VALLEY PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT TO USE CERTAIN STATE OWNED HOUSE IN THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY FOR TRAINING PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley Public Safety Department has requested the Golden Valley City Council to authorize the use of a State owned structure within the City of Golden Valley for the purpose of burning or otherwise utilizing for department training; and WHEREAS, training drills are essential to maintain the effectiveness of the Golden Valley Police and Fire Departments; and WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Department of Public Safety has obtained permission from the State Department of Transportation for the use of the structure for training contingent upon authorization for such use by the Golden Valley City Council; and WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Public Safety Department has requested the Golden Valley City Council to authorize the use of a State owned structure for training purposes through December 31, 1986; and WHEREAS, the subject property is located at 1445 Princeton Avenue, within the City of Golden Valley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley hereby authorizes the use of the subject structure by the Golden Valley Public Safety Department for training purposes through December 31, 1986. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except for negligent acts of the State, its agents and employees, the City of Golden Valley assumes all liability for and save the State, its agents and employees harmless from all claims for damages, actions or causes arising out of the use of the subject structure by the City Public Safety Department for training purposes.
