Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTIOPJ PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVE�ENTS
RSL 160
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, P4innesota,
as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429,
this Council proposed to construct certain proposed public improvements within
the City as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the City has reported to the Council advising it in a
preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they
should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improvements,
and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: $6,107.65.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of
notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing
on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the
NEW HOPE-GOLDEN VALLEY POST, the offici�l newspaper of the City, the first of
said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated February 20, 1986 and
the last of said publications to be in the issue dated February 27, 1986. Such
notice shall be substantially the same as in the attached form.

The riotion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Sakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following was
absent: Anderson, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor Pro
Tem and his signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley,
Hennepin County, P�innesota, will meet on Tuesday, March 4, 19II6 at 7:30 PM
at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said City for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements.
The City Engineer's estimated cost, the type of improvement, area where said
improvement will be constructed and which it will serve is as follows:
Estimated Cost: $6,107.65
Residential Street Lighting 160
(Nine Ornamental Street Lights)
Improvement Area: On Duluth Street, Ensign Avenue North, Elgin Place and
Flag Avenue North, more specifically described as follows:
All of McDougall-Juris Addition; Lots 6 and 7, Block G and Lots 13 and 14, Block 8,
all in Medley Hills; Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Lakeview Heights; Also, all that part
of the south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 of Section 30, Township 118,
Range 21, lying East of Ensign Avenue, north of the westerly extension of the most
southerly line of Pledley Hills and west of Lot 11, Block 8, Medley Hills ; and Also
Al l that part of the south 1/2 of said southeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 lyi ng
southwesterly of Duluth Street and northeasterly of the following described
line: Commencing at a point in the east right-of-way line of Flag Avenue North
a distance of 150.0 feet south of the south right-of-way line of Duluth Street;
thence easterly and southeasterly, parallel to Duluth Street a distance of 500.0
feet; thence deflecting to the left, northeasterly, 90 degrees, a distance of
150.0 feet, to the southerly right-of-way line of Duluth Street, and said line
there terminating.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improver�ent, the City Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by
�linnesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
All property within the City which is benefited by the improvement is proposed
to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the above description,
including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or
1 ines described above and includi ng al l rail road property and rail road rights-
of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described streets,
lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the street or lines
described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to
make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
