86-062 - 09-16 Authorizing Grant Application - Quad Cities DWI Enforcement Project Resolution 86-62 September 16, 1986
Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZI�G THE SUBP�ISSION OF THE GRANT APPLICATIOP�
AND EXECUTION OF THE AGREEMENT - QUAD-CITIES DWI ENFORCEPIENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the State of Plinnesota will make grant funds available for DWI
enforcement measures to local law enforcement agencies to begin October 1, 1986
and end September 30, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the Cities of Crystal , Golden Valley, New Hope and Robbinsdale are
desirous of providing a coordinated approach to DWI enforcement; and
WHEREAS, a mutual aid agreement is in place which will allow for a
coordinated enforcement effort; and
WHEREAS, the Cities of Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale agree to allow
the City of Crystal to administratively coordinate the Quad-Cities DWI Enforcement
Project grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Golden Valley act as one of
four sponsoring units of government and one of four grantees for the project
titled Quad-Cities DWI Enforcement Project. The Quad-Cities DWI Enforcernent
Project is to be conducted in the City of Golden Valley by the Golden Valley
Police Department during the period October l, 1986 through September 30, 1987.
Dean L. �looney, Deputy Director of Public Safety, is hereby authorized to apply
to the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, for funding of the project
on behalf of the Golden Valley City Council .

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the P�ayor and her signature attested by the Deputy
City Clerk.
