87-007 - 01-06 Apppoint Director of Administrative Services as City TreasurerResolution 87-7 January 6, 1987 Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPOINTING DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AS CITY TREASURER WHEREAS, John Murphy has retired from and terminated his active full-time employment by the City of Golden Valley effective December 31, 1986; and WHEREAS, the above -referenced John Murphy has heretofore held the position of City Treasurer for the City of Golden Valley, with respect to which position he has submitted his formal resignation effective December 31, 1986; and WHEREAS, a vacancy now exists in the office of City Treasurer for the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, applicable Minnesota statutory law authorizes the City Council of a Plan B Statutory City, such as is the City of Golden Valley, to appoint a City Treasurer and to combine the office of City Treasurer with that of any other city administrative office (except the office of City Manager); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, hereby accepts the resignation of John Murphy as City Treasurer. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the office of Director of Administrative Services and the office of City Treasurer are hereby ordered to be combined and that Donald G. Taylor, presently the Director of Administrative Services for the City of Golden Valley, be and he hereby is also appoi to be the City Treasurer for the City of Golden Valley.
