Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY TO ENTER INTO
AND EXPEND FUNDS NECESSARY TO ESTABLISH A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE
WITH THE CITIES OF CRYSTAL, NEW HOPE, ROBBINSDALE AND ST. LOUIS PARK
WHEREAS, the City Council of Golden Valley has determined that it is in the
best interests of the City to enter into a Drug Enforcement Task Force with the
Cities of Crystal, New Hope, Robbinsdale and St. Louis Park in 1988; and
WHEREAS, the Police Departments of Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope,
Robbinsdale and St. Louis Park have made application for Federal Drug Enforcement
Task Force grant; and
WHEREAS, the cost to the City of Golden Valley for participation in said
grant and associated task force is not to exceed a net amount of $10,000 in
calendar year 1988;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Mayor
and City Manager to enter into said task force agreement and further authorizes
the disbursement of up to a net amount of $10,000 from the 1988 Police Division
Budget, Program 321, for the purpose of providing matching funds needed to meet
the conditions of the pending federal grant.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy
City Clerk.
