088-022A - 04-05 Setting Charges for Residential Recycling Services Resolution 88-22A April 5, 1988
Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION SETTING CHARGES FOR RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING SERVICES
bJHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 88-11 dated January 19, 1988
establishing a recycling program for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into a contract with Super Cycle Inc. for
residential collection of source-separated recyclable materials; and
WHEREAS, for the purposes of this resolution a residential unit shall mean
any room or group of rooms inhabited by a single family or individual as a
residence including single family homes, duplex units, apartment units, townhome
units and condominium units; and
WHEREAS, partial financing for the City's recycling program will be
received from Hennepin County through its recycling grant program; and
WHEREAS, the balance of the financing for the City's recycling program will
be provided by a quarterly charge to each residential unit to be included in
t heir qua rterly utility bills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that it hereby adopts
the following schedule of charges for residential recycling services:
1. Fi rst 4 (four) quarterly bi 1 li ngs $2.50/Quarter Per
Residential Unit
2. Subsequent Quarters $1.25/Quarter Per

e motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Bakken and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following was
absent: Anderson, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the �layor Pro
Tem and his signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
