088-023 - 04-05 Authorizing Acquisition of Property in GV for Public Purposes Resolution 88-23 April 5, 1988
Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTfiORIZING TNE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OR CONDEMNATION
OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES
WHEREAS, a certain parcel of land described as: Lots 1 through 10 inclusive,
Block 2, Rauenhorst No. 2, located within the City of Golden Valley has been
available in the marketplace for purchase for some time; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley is in need of a parcel such as the
subject property for various public purposes, including by not limited to, use
as a storage site for materials, machinery and so forth, use as a site for
various activities of the Public Works Department and so forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley as follows:
1. Purchase of the subject property by the City for the sum of $558,800
cash is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City P�anager are hereby authorized to enter into a purchase
agreement for the subject property on behalf of the City and effectuate
the purchase thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the acquisition of the subject property is
necessary and desirable and the purposes fo r which said land are to be acquired
are necessary and proper public purposes.

Th motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Bakken and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following was
absent: Anderson, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor Pro
Tem and his signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
