Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, flinnesota,
as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of r1innesota Statutes, Chapter 429,
this Council proposed to construct certain proposed public improvements within
the City as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the City has reported to the Council advising it in a
oreliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they
should best be made as proposed and not in connection 4vith some other improvements,
and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: $62,513.40.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of
notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing
on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Cle rk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place
and purpose of said meeting to be publi shed for one ��►eek in the PJEW HOPE-GOLDEN
VALLEY POST, the offici�l newspaper of the City, on �1ay 5, 19$8. Such notice
shall be substantially the same as in the attached forr�.

e motion for the adoption of the foregoing r�solution was seconded by P�ember
Thompson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the �1ayor and her signature attested by the Deputy
City Clerk.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley,
Hennepin County, ��innesota, will meet on Tuesday, P�1ay 17, 1988 at 7:30 PP1
at the Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said City for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements.
The City Engineer's estimated cost, the type of improvement, area where said
improvement will be constructed and which it vrill serve is as follows:
Estimated Cost: $62,513.40.

Improvement Area: On flary Hills Drive, from Golden Valley Road to Bassett
Creek Drive, more specifically described as:
Lot 5, Block 1
Lots 4, 5 & 6, glock 2
Lots 1 & 7 thru 13 inclusive, Block 4; All in f1ary Hills ; and
Commenci ng at a poi nt in the PJorth li ne of Southeast 1/4 of Northeast 1/4
distance 308 7/10 feet West frori the Northeast corner thereof, Thence South
parallel with East line thereof 740 feet to the actual point of beginning,
Thence 6Jest at right angles 145 feet, Thence Northwesterly 128 81/100 feet
to a poi nt 665 feet South from the PJorth li ne and 558 7/10 feet West from
East li ne of Southeast 1/4 of Northeast 1/4, Thence South to the PJortherly li ne
of 19th Avenue fJorth, Thence Easterly al ong said road li ne to its intersection
4vith a line running South from beginning Thence North to beginning, except
road in Section 18 Township 29 Range 24.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed
improvement, the City Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by
P�innesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
All property within the City which is benefited by the improvement is proposed
t o be assessed for such improvement as set fo rth in the above description,
including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or
1 ines described above and includi ng al l rail road property and rail road rights-
of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described streets,
lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the street or lines
described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to
mal<e known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
