Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GOLDEN VALLEY PUBLIC
SAFETY DEPARTMENT TO USE CERTAIN STATE OWNED
HOUSES IN THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY FOR TRAINING PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley Public Safety Department has requested
the Golden Valley City Council to authorize the use of a state owned structure
within the City of Golden Valley for the purpose of drilling or otherwise
utilizing for department training; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Department of Public Safety has obtained
permission from the State Department of Transportation for the use of the
structure for training contingent upon authorization for such use by the Golden
Valley City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Public Safety Department has requested the
Golden Valley City Council to authorize the use of a state owned structure for
training purposes through October 28, 1988; and
WHEREAS, the subject property is located at 500 South Lilac Drive within
the City of Golden Valley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley hereby authorizes the use of the subject structure by the Golden Valley
Public Safety Department for training purposes through October 28, 1988.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except for negligent acts of the State, its
agents and employees, the City of Golden Valley assumes all liability for and
saves the State, its agents and employees harmless from all claims for damages,
actions or causes of arising out of the use of subject structures by the City
Public Safety Department for training purposes.

Stockman and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy
City Clerk.
