088-097 - 11-01 Requesting Variance from State Aid Standards Resolution 88-97 November 1, 1988 P�ember Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REQUESTING A VARIANCE FROP� STATE AID STANDARDS COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY N0. 70 CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY, HENNEPIN CQUNTY, MINNESOTA WHEREAS, County State Aid Highway No. 70 (Medicine Lake Road) is for the most part a two lane 24 foot wide roadway with 6 foot to 8 foot wide bituminous shoulders along each side between Hillsboro Avenue and Douglas Avenue; and WHEREAS, the existing and projected traffic counts on C.S.A.H. No. 70 are approximately 13,000 average daily traffic (ADT) and projected 16,000 (2008) ADT respectively, and requires a 52 foot width in accordance with State Aid Standards; and WHEREAS, the proposed improvement provides for upgrading for C.S.A.H. No. 70 to a four lane 48 foot wide roadway from Hillsboro Avenue to Douglas Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Val ley, Hennepi n County, Mi nnesota, request a four foot vari ance to the requi red 52 foot width from the Department of Transportation Technical Services Division State Aid Operations ��linnesota Rules Chapter 8820, 8820.9912 (Urban State Aid Streets) for C.S.A.H.
