89-012 - 02-07 Continue Recycling Program for 1989Resolution 89-12 February 7, 1989 Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION CONTINUING RECYCLING PROGRAM FOR 1989 WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley recognizes the requirements of the Hennepin County Solid Waste Abatement Ordinance No. 13; and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley is committed toward fulfilling those recycling requirements, which were established January, 1988; WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley recognizes the necessity to have a comprehensive program that includes a residential curb -side pick up service and a cooperative effort of commercial and industrial businesses within the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley is desirous of making its intentions and program recognized and accepted by Hennepin County to obtain the applicable County participation; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Golden Valley hereby affirms its commitment by continuing the following program and policy. RESIDENTIAL: Single family curb -side recycling pickup within the City. COMMERCIAL: Convene meetings with commercial and industrial business owners and provide aggressive information programs for commercial recycling. Work with commercial and industrial staff representatives in establishing, coordinating and reporting applicable tonnages to the City of Golden Valley for 1989. Meet the goal of residential and commercial as established. J � "✓ ary E.(Wnderson, Mayor ATTEST: Resolution 89-12 - Continued February 7, 1989 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy City Clerk.
