89-032 - 05-16 Provide Public Hearing Public Improvements 89 SI 2Resolution 89-32 May 16, 1989 Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS 89 SI 2 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. In conformity with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, this Council proposed to construct certain proposed public improvements within the City as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof. 2. The Engineer for the City has reported to the Council advising it in a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other improve- ments, and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows: $635,882.71. 3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein. 4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in the NEW HOPE -GOLDEN VALLEY POST NEWS, the official newspaper of the City, the first of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated May 31, 1989 and the last of said publications to be in the issue dated June 7, 1989. Such notice shall be substantially the same as in the attached form. Resolution 89-32 - Continued May 16, 1989 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS 89 SI 2 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, June 13, 1989 at 7:30 PM at Brookview Community Center, 8200 Wayzata Boulevard, in said City for the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements. The City Engineer's estimated cost, the type of improvement, area where said improvement will be constructed and which it will serve is as follows: Estimated Cost: $635,882.71 89 Street Improvement 2 Improvement Area: Turners Crossroad, from Glenwood Avenue to Valley Wood Circle, more specifically described as follows: That part of Section 33, Township 118, Range 21 described as follows: Lot 2, Block 1, Valley Wood. Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Valley Wood, P.U.D. No. 41. That part of the west 100 feet of the following described tract of land commencing at a point on the south line of 6th Avenue North 929 6/10 feet east from the west line of Lot 3 thence south 591 88/100 feet to the north line of F. B. Turner land thence east along the north line thereof to the east line of Lot 3 thence north to the south line of 6th Avenue North thence west to the beginning lying north of the south 198 feet thereof except state highway. Commencing at a point in the south line of Highway No. 55 distance 1029 6/10 feet east at a right angle from the west line of Lot 3 thence south parallel with said west line to a point 198 feet north from the north line of Skelly's Addition thence east 49 feet thence deflecting left 10 degrees 55 minutes to the southwesterly line of said highway thence northwesterly along said highway line to beginning. Commencing at a point 453 feet south and 33 feet west of the northeast corner of Government Lot 4 thence south parallel with east line of said Lot 226 5/10 feet to the north line of railroad right-of-way thence south- westerly along said right-of-way to a point 323 9/10 feet west of the east line and 410 feet north of the south line of said Lot 4 thence north 436 1/10 feet thence northeasterly 292 45/100 feet to beginning. Commencing 40 rods north of the intersection of the west line of section with center line of Minneapolis and Watertown Road thence east 105 80/100 feet thence southwesterly on a 3 2/100 degree curve to the left to a point on the west line of section distance 89 99/100 feet south of beginning thence north to beginning except road. That part of east 10 acres of Lot 4 lying north of the south 258 feet thereof and south of railroad right-of-way except road. The south 258 feet of that part of the east 10 acres of Government Lot 4 lying southeasterly of railroad right-of-way except roads. Lot 2, Block 1, Meadowbrook School Addition. In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed improvement, the City Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429. All property within the City which is benefited by the improvement is proposed to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the above description, including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or lines described above and including all railroad property and railroad rights- of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described streets, lines and areas. All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the street or lines described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there be.
