Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUED
HENNEPIN COUNTY FUNDING FOR
NORTHWEST HENNEPIN HUMAN SERVICES COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Human Services Councils have been funded since 1973 by member
municipalities and the County; jointly, to meet the suburban human service
planning needs; and
WHEREAS, the need for planning and coordinating services in the suburbs
continues to be very important to meet human service needs of growing suburban
populations; and
WHEREAS, these planning and coordinating activities help to coordinate a
fragmented service delivery systems, create cost effective services and avoid
duplication, thus benefiting all parties.
WHEREAS, we would recommend that the County review the total County budget
and reduced across the entire County budget, rather than human services and
contracted agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Golden Valley strongly
supports on-going Hennepin County Community Planning and citizens participation
funding for the Northwest Hennepin Human Services Councils.

Title motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Thompson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockman and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly
passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the Deputy
City Clerk.
