Resolution 90-80

Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING BROOKVIEW PARKWAY
WHEREAS, construction of Interstate 394 has had a significant impact on the
course of Wayzata Boulevard and access to streets in the southwestern part of
the City including the removal of direct access to Brookview Community Center;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council supports providing clear direction to the public
on the location of the Brookview Community Center and the Golf Maintenance
Facility; and,
WHEREAS, the designation as Brookview Parkway of the private roadway which
meanders through Brookview Park and along the easterly edge of the golf course
will aid the public in finding facilities located along this roadway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, that the roadway through Brookview Park and leading to the
Brookview Community Center shall hereafter be designated as Brookview Parkway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that address numbers referencing Brookview Parkway
be assigned to City facilities located upon it, and the U.S. Post Office and the
public be informed of the assigned addresses for these buildings.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Bakken and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Anderson, Bakken, Johnson, Stockmand and Thompson; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
