91-078 - 09-03 Authorize Right-of-Way Widening of Turners CrossroadResolution 91-78 September 3, 1991 Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION BY PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE WIDENING OF TURNER'S CROSSROAD WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has included the rebuilding of Turner's Crossroad from I394 to Glenwood Avenue in 1995 in the 1991-1995 Capital Improvement Program; and, WHEREAS, certain property, which is needed to widen the roadway when it is rebuilt has recently become available for sale; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable and in the public interest for the City to acquire this real property, known as 200 S. Turner's Crossroad, for street right-of-way; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden Valley: 1. That it is necessary and desirable and in the public interest to acquire the real property known as 200 S. Turner's Crossroad for street right-of-way purposes for the widening of Turner's Crossroad and the City staff and City attorney, or such other persons as necessary, are hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps and to • execute all necessary documents to acquire such real property; 2. That the acquisition of such real property is necessary and desirable and the purposes therefore are proper and necessary public purposes. ATTEST: �.���,_, , � Shirley J. Nelson, City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockman and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
