93-012 - 02-02 Authorize Agreement Soo Line Railroad Turners Crossorad Between Glenwood Ave and Loring LaneResolution 93-12 February 2, 1993 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH SOO LINE RAILROAD COMPANY TO UPGRADE AN EXISTING RAILROAD CROSSING ON TURNER'S CROSSROAD BETWEEN GLENWOOD AVENUE AND LORING LANE WHEREAS, it has been deemed advisable and necessary to upgrade the Railroad Crossing on Turner's Crossroad between Glenwood Avenue and Loring Lane, and WHEREAS, Soo Line Railroad has prepared an agreement providing for upgrade of the crossing by Soo Line Railroad at the City's expense, and WHEREAS, Turner's Crossroad is designated as a Municipal State Aid Street, thus allowing the use of Municipal State Aid monies to fund said upgrade, and WHEREAS, the upgrade plan has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Office of State Aid; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Staff is authorized to negotiate an agreement with Soo Line Railroad to provide for the upgrading of the Railroad Crossing on Turner's Crossroad between Glenwood Avenue and Loring Lane. ATTEST: Shirley J6 Velton, City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockman and Thompson; the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
