93-016 - 02-02 Support Robert Deghetto Suburban Regional Park BoardResolution 93-16 February 2, 1993 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPOINTMENT OF ROBERT DEGHETTO TO THE SUBURBAN HENNEPIN REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District is a local unit of government, governed by seven Commissioners, who are charged with the acquisi- tion, development and maintenance of large parks, wild life sanctuaries, forest and other reservations, and means for public access to historic sites and to lakes, rivers and streams and to other natural phenomena (Minnesota Statutes 398.06). WHEREAS, at an upcoming meeting, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners will be appointing an individual to serve a term of office on the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District Board of Commissioners. WHEREAS, Robert DeGhetto, a former Mayor and Council Member for the City of Minnetonka, has considerable experience working on issues that have metropolitan area significance, including the Suburban Rate Authority, the Hennepin County Light Rail Committee, and committees for the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities. WHEREAS, the Golden Valley City Council believes that Robert DeGhetto's considerable knowledge and expertise involving metropolitan issues, along with his strong commitment to preserving our County's natural resources such as parkland, would make him a valuable member on the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District Board of Commissioners. WHEREAS, the Golden Valley City Council supports the appointment of Robert DeGhetto, 11400 Lorry Lane, Minnesota Minnesota 55343, to the Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District Board of Commissioners. ATTEST: Shirley NoTsoh, City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bakken, Johnson, Russell, Stockmand and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
