93-024 - 03-16 Authorize Transfer of Lot 45, Auditor's Subdivision #360Resolution 93-24 March 16, 1993 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF A PART OF LOT 45, AUDITOR'S SUBDIVISION NUMBER 360, HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA TO THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY FROM THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE VALLEY SQUARE REDEVELOPMENT AREA WHEREAS, in 1975 the City of Golden Valley acquired Lot 45, Auditor's Subdivision Number 360, Hennepin County, Minnesota, in the Valley Square Study Area; and WHEREAS, the parcel was subsequently divided into an east and west parcel, with the east parcel sold for development of an office project and the west par- cel retained by the City with a portion designated for the construction of Rhode Island Avenue North between Country Club Drive and Golden Valley Road; and WHEREAS, the 1978 Valley Square Redevelopment Plan, adopted by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) and approved by the City, called for the construction and realignment of Rhode Island Avenue North, with the residual of said westerly portion of Lot 45 to be made available for redevelopment as part of "Area C" of said plan; and WHEREAS, the HRA has purchased numerous parcels in the Valley Square "Area C" and has now requested the City Council to convey the westerly portion of said Lot 45 to the HRA to be assembled and used for redevelopment with the Rhode Island Avenue corridor to be defined and dedicated back to the City through the subdivision process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, pursuant to the authority contained in Minnesota Statutes §465.035 and its general powers, that it authorizes conveyance to the NRA of the real prop- erty legally described, or of the approximate legal description, as follows: That part of Lot 45, lying Westerly of a line drawn from a point in the South line of said Lot 45 distant 216.22 feet East from the Southwest corner to a point in the Northwesterly line of said Lot 45, distant 211.59 feet Northeasterly from the Northwest corner thereof, Auditor's Subdivision Number 360, Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to the plat thereof on file or of record in the office of the Register of Deeds, in and for said County. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is authorized to execute appro- priate documents to accomplish the conveyance. Resolution 93-24 - Continued ATTEST: S irley J.
