93-047 - 06-15 DENIED Order Public Improvements 93 SS 1 Pond TreatmentResolution 93-47 NOT APPROVED June 15, 1993 Member Russell introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ORDERING CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS 93 SS 1 POND TREATMENT - HAMPSHIRE AVENUE AT GLENWOOD AVENUE WHEREAS, 73% of the landowners abutting the pond between Hampshire Avenue, Glenwood Avenue and Western Avenue petitioned the City Council to treat the pond for algae and weed growth; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared a cost estimate of $2,115.00 and a feasibility report which indicates the requested public improvement is feasible; and, WHEREAS, after due notice being given, the City Council has held a public hearing on the requested public improvement on this 15th day of June, 1993; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The City shall proceed with the public improvement as petitioned by affected residents. 2. The public improvement is feasible and can best be accomplished by the City. 3. The cost of the improvement, which is estimated at $2,115.00, shall be paid in full by special assessment to be levied against the 12 abutting parcels in equal shares. 4. The City Engineer is designated engineer for the public improvement, is inst5ructed to prepare final plans and specifications for it, obtain proposals for it and shall see that it is completed. Nelson, City Clerk The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: none; the following voted against the same: Russell, Stockman and Thompson; and the following were absent: Bakken and Johnson; whereupon said resolution was declared defeated.
