93-082 - 10-19 Authorize Acquire Three Winnetka Shopping Centers North of Golden Valley RoadResolution 93-82 October 19, 1993 Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR THE WIDENING OF WINNETKA AVENUE (Three Winnetka Shopping Centers North of Golden Valley Road) WHEREAS Resolution 93-60 adopted August 3, 1993, authorizes the acquisition by purchase or condemnation of certain real property for street right-of-way for the widening of Winnetka Avenue including Project Parcel No. 8 (701-737 Winnetka Avenue No.) Tower Square Shopping Center, Parcel No. 9 (625-633 Winnetka Avenue No.) Maren, Corp. Shopping Center and Parcel No. 10 (605-623 Winnetka Avenue No.) Bies Shopping Center; and, WHEREAS in Resolutions 93-2 and 93-3 adopted July 13, 1993, the Golden Valley Housing and Redevelopment Authority authorized acquisition of these same parcels for redevelopment purposes and requested the City to act on its behalf to acquire this property; and, WHEREAS the City has now negotiated purchase agreements with all of these properties. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that the purchases are approved as set forth in the purchase agreements labeled Attachments I, II and III as outlined below: I - Tower Square Shopping Center, 701-737 Winnetka Ave. No. - $1,450,000 II - Maren, Corp. Shopping Center, 625-633 Winnetka Ave. No. - $330,000 III - Bies Shopping Center, 605-623 Winnetka Ave. No. - $335,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that appropriate City officials are authorized to execute the agreements and complete the purchases as provided in the purchase agreements. ATTEST: Shirley J. so , City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Thompson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bakken, Russell, Stockman and Thompson; and the following voted against the same: Johnson, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
