93-083 - 10-19 Withhold Property at 4900 Olson Memorial HighwayResolution 93-83 October 19, 1993 Member Stockman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REQUESTING HENNEPIN COUNTY TO WITHHOLD PROPERTY AT 4900 OLSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY (FORMER WHITE HOUSE RESTAURANT) FROM PUBLIC SALE AND DESIGNATE IT AS NON -CONSERVATION LANDS WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has been advised by Hennepin County that a parcel of land in the City has become the property of the State of Minnesota under the provisions of law declaring the forfeiture of lands to the State for nonpayment of taxes; and, WHEREAS, the property has been placed on the Minnesota Permanent List of Priorities (Superfund) due to historical dumping on the site; and, WHEREAS, significant environmental investigation is necessary to pre- pare a remediation plan that will make the site suitable for redevelopment; and, WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Housing and Redevelopment Authority has volunteered to work with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to investigate the site. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that it hereby requests Hennepin County to designate the following described property as nonconservation land and withhold it from public sale to provide for thorough environmental investigation by the Golden Valley Housing and Redevelopment Authority: Description of Property: 4900 Olson Memorial Highway, PID No.s 19-029-24-24-0007 19-029-24-24-0017 Legal: That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 19, Township 29, Range 24 described as beginning at a point on the South line of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter distant 487.29 feet West from the Southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence West along said South line a distance of 387 feet; thence North parallel with the East line of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter a distance of 650 feet; thence East parallel with said South line a distance of 120 feet; thence South parallel with said East line a distance of 457 feet; thence East parallel with said South line a distance of 267 feet; thence South parallel with said East line a distance of 193 feet to the point of beginning, according to the Government Survey thereof, in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
