Member Russell introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON CERTAIN PROPOSED PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS

LAUREL AVENUE (PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE SOUTH TO FLORIDA AVENUE SOUTH)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. In conformity with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter
429, this Council proposes to construct certain proposed public improvements
within the City as stated in the form of notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof.
2. The Engineer for the City has reported to the Council advising it in
a preliminary way that the proposed public improvements are feasible and that
they should best be made as proposed and not in connection with some other
improvements, and has given his estimated cost of the improvements as follows:
none.
3. The Council shall meet at the time and place specified in the form
of the notice included in Paragraph 4 hereof for the purpose of holding a public
hearing on the proposed public improvements as described therein.
4. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks in
the NEW HOPE/GOLDEN VALLEY SUN POST, the official newspaper of the City, the
first of said publications to be in the issue of said paper dated March 30,
1994, and the last of said publications to be in the issue dated April 6, 1994.
Such notice shall be substantially the same as in the attached form.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Johnson, Micks, Russell, Thompson, Tremere; and the following voted
against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.

LAUREL AVENUE (PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE SOUTH TO FLORIDA AVENUE SOUTH)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota, will meet on Tuesday, April 5, 1994, at 7:00
P.M. at the Golden Valley City Hall, 7800 Golden Valley Road, in said City for
the purpose of holding a public hearing on certain proposed public improvements.
The City Engineer's estimated cost, the type of improvement, area where said
improvement will be constructed and which it will serve is as follows:
Improvement Area: The following properties located in Hennepin County,
Section 5, Township 117, bordering Laurel Avenue between Pennsylvania Avenue
South and Florida Avenue South; more specifically described as follows:
Lot 2, Block 1, Church of the Good Shepherd Addition
Lot 1, Block 1, Cortlawn Pond
Lot 1, Block 1, Laurel Pond
Lots 2, 3, Block 1, Saturn Addition P.U.D. No. 63
Metes/Bounds Description:
That part of Lot 1, Block 1, Baker's Industrial Park lying north
of the south 101.0 feet thereof.
Lots 1 and 2, except Highway, Block 2, Golden Plaza 1st Addition.
That part of Lot 1 lying North of a line parallel with the 335.0
feet southerly measured at right angles from North line thereof,
Block 1, Golden Valley 1st Addition.
That part of Tract D lying South of North 80.0 feet thereof and
the North 400.0 feet of Tract E, Registered Land Survey No. 648.
That part of southeast 1/4 of northwest 1/4 lying West
of East 10 acres thereof and North of a line running from a
point in West line of said tract 588 feet southerly from

That part of the East 291.95 feet of the West 542.45 feet of the
northeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 of Section 5, Township 117, Range 21
as measured along the North line of said northeast 1/4 of the northwest
1/4 lying South of a line described as follows; commencing at a point on
the East line of said northeast 1/4 of the northwest 1/4 distance 778.58
feet South of the northeast corner thereof; thence West parallel with
the North line of said Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 to the East
line of said East 291.95 feet thence North 84.72 feet along said East
line thence West 291.95 feet and there ending, except road.
In conducting said public hearing for making its decision on the proposed im-
provement, the City Council proposes to proceed under the authority granted by
Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429.
All property within the City which is benefited by the improvement is proposed
to be assessed for such improvement as set forth in the above description,
including all property within the described areas and/or abutting on streets or
lines described above and including all railroad property and railroad rights-
of-way and public property located in or abutting on the above described
streets, lines and areas.
All owners of such property in the areas and abutting upon the street or lines
described above are hereby notified to be present at said public hearing and to
make known their objections to such proposed public improvements, if any there
be.
