Member Tremere introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE TIMELY COMPLETION OF
THE UPGRADE OF T.H. 100 CORRIDOR
FROM GLENWOOD AVENUE TO I-694/94
WHEREAS, the original construction of T.H. 100 began in 1931 and was
completed in 1941; and,
WHEREAS, the upgrade and reconstruction of T.H. 100, from Glenwood Avenue
to Interstate 694/94, has been scheduled for over 20 years; and,
WHEREAS, construction proposed for 1995 was delayed until 1997 because of
the lack of funding; and,
WHEREAS, property along this corridor have been off the tax rolls during
this entire time; and,
WHEREAS, the corridor is unsafe because of congestion, access and road
conditions; and,
WHEREAS, bridges along the corridor have visible signs of deterioration;
and,
WHEREAS, the air pollution levels exceed maximum standards levels; and,
WHEREAS, T.H. 100 south of Glenwood Avenue has been upgraded and improved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Golden Valley has iden-
tified the upgrade of the T.H. 100 as a priority transportation project, and
requests MnDOT to schedule the work and to expend the funds necessary to
complete the timely upgrading of T.H. 100 corridor through Golden Valley,
Robbinsdale, Brooklyn Center and Crystal.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Thompson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Tremere, and the following voted against the same: Johnson, Micks,
Russell and Thompson, whereupon said resolution was declared duly defeated.
