94-69 - 09-12 Authorize 1994 Police Union ContractResolution 94-69 September 12, 1994 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE 1994 POLICE UNION CONTRACT (LAW ENFORCEMENT LABOR SERVICES BARGAINING UNIT NUMBER 27) WHEREAS, a mediation proposal for the settlement of the Law Enforcement Labor Services union contract for Bargaining Unit Number 27 has been found acceptable by the City and Union representatives. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley hereby authorizes execution of the 1994 contract with the following terms: 1. All wage rates be increased by 3% effective January 1, 1994. 2. The amount the City contributes toward dependent health insurance coverage would remain the same as in 1993 ($295 per month). 3. Effective January 1, 1994 an amount of $9.00 be added to the base pay of all salary ranges. Effective September 1, 1994, an amount of $25 be added to all salary ranges. Both amounts are monies previously paid by the City for insurance coverage which the bargaining unit wishes to discontinue. 4. Effective September 1, 1994, long-term disability insurance provided to police officers will be discontinued. 5. Field Training Officers will receive one-half hour additional accrued time for each shift spent training a new officer. 6. Miscellaneous minor language changes to comply with State Statutes and Fair Labor Standards Act requirements. 7. All other terms and conditions of the 1993 contract will remain in effect. B air ATTEST: remere, At" a S irley J. lt5on,kCity Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Russell, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Johnson, Micks, Russell, Thompson and Tremere, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duty passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
