RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SIX-FOOT !�JIDE MINIPIUM SIDEWALK WIDTH
WNEREAS, the City of Golden Valley removes snow from the sidewalk syster�
within the City with r�echanized equipment that exceeds five-feet in width; and
WHEREAS, this snow removal equipment causes damage to turf and landscaping
adjacent to the sidewalks if the sidewalk is five-feet wide or l�ss; and
WHEREAS, wider sidewalks provide additional safety for pedestrians and
promotes pedestrian use of sidewalks; and
NOW, THEREFOP,E, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley that it establishes the standard sidewalk width as a minir�ur� of six-feet.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member
Johnson; and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Johnson, Micks, Russell , Thompson and Tremere; and the following voted
against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
