95-083 - 12-19 - Approving Issuance of Premises Permit to Conduct Lawful Gambling/VFW Post 7051 Resolution 95-83 December 19, 1995
Member Thompson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY
APPROVING ISSUANCE OF A PREMISES PERMIT
FOR THE CONDUCT OF LAWFUL GAMBLING
(VFW Post 7051)
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Chapter 349 provide for the licensing of lawful
gambling by the State Gambling Control Board ("Board"); and
WHEREAS, a licensed organization may not conduct lawful gambling at any said
unless it has first obtained from the Board a premises permit for the site; and
WHEREAS, the Board may not issue or renew a premises permit unless the
organization submits a resolution from the City Council approving the premises permit; said
resolution shall have been adopted within 60 days of the date of the application was
received by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Golden Valley that the
applicant listed below does meet the criteria necessary to receive a premises permit and
the application is hereby approved:

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Micks
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Johnson, Micks,
Russell, Thompson and Tremere; and the following voted against the same: none
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and his signature attested by the City Clerk.
Resolution 95-84 December 19, 1995
Member Micks introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption, as amended:
RESOLUTION RESTRICTING PARKING ON MANDAN AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council has the power and authority, pursuant to Chapter 9.06,
subd. 2 of the City Code, to designate no parking zones and areas, and it appears that no
parking zones should be created on Mandan Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden
Valley that no parking shall be permitted anytime on the north and east sides of Mandan
Avenue, between Plymouth Avenue and Boone Avenue North.
