97-081 - 11-05 Authorizing Execution of Resolution Approving Annexation of Portion of Old Wayzata Blvd Resolution 97-81 November 5, 1997 Member Russell introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE JOINT RESOLUTION APPROVING CONCURRENT DETACHMENT AND ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF OLD WAYZATA BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the Minnesota Municipal Board requires a joint resolution approving concurrent detachment and annexation by the cities affected by said action; and WHEREAS, the attached Exhibit A provides for the detachment and annexation of the south half of the Wayzata Boulevard frontage road between Colorado Avenue on the west and Xenia Avenue on the east as legally described therein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that the Joint Resolution attached as Exhibit A is hereby adopted and the Mayor is authorized to execute said resolution and submit it for approval to the Minnesota Municipal Board. � Mary E. nderson, Mayor ATTEST: Shirley J. Resolution 97-81 - Continued November 5, 1997 EXHIBIT A IN THE MATTER OF THE JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY AND OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK FOR CONCURRENT DETACHMENT AND ANNEXATION JOINT RESOLUTION APPROVING CONCURRENT DETACHMENT AND ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF OLD WAYZATA BOULEVARD TO THE MUNICIPAL BOARD: WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley desires to vacate a portion of Old Wayzata Boulevard in the Golden Hills West area for development purposes; and WHEREAS, the southern half of the section of Old Wayzata Boulevard to be vacated is located within the boundaries of the City of St. Louis Park, which portion of Old Wayzata Boulevard consists of 1.6 acres and is legally described as: That part of the north 33.00 feet of Government Lots 5 & 6, Section 4, Township 117, Range 21, Hennepin County, Minnesota lying easterly of the southerly extension of the westerly right-of-way line of Colorado Avenue and lying westerly of a line described as beginning at the intersection of the southwesterly line of Lot 2, Block 1, THE COLONNADE P.U.D. NO. 53, according to the recorded plat thereof, Hennepin County, Minnesota and the north line of said Government Lot 5; thence southerly, perpendicular to said north line of Government Lot 5 and said line there terminating; and WHEREAS, the cities of Golden Valley and St. Louis Park desire to detach the described property from the City of St. Louis Park and annex the described property to the City of Golden Valley because the described property abuts the City limits of the City of Golden Valley and is isolated from the City of St. Louis Park by Interstate Highway 394.
