99-025 - 03-16 - Revised Joint Cooperative Agreement with Southwest Mutual Aid Assoc Use of Fire Personnel and Equipment Resolution 99-25 March 16, 1999
Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ENTERING INTO A REVISED
JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
THE SOUTHWEST MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION
FOR USE OF FIRE PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has previously approved and participated in a
mutual aid agreement between the southwest suburban governmental agencies to provide
cooperative use of fire personnel and equipment;
WHEREAS, the agencies participating in this agreement have been designated the
southwest Mutual Aid Association;
WHEREAS, the existing agreement requires the parties of the agreement to
approve by resolution a new Exhibit A to add a new member to the agreement;
WHEREAS, the City of Maple Grove would like to join the Association and would
add to the overall effectiveness;
WHEREAS, the V.A. Medical Center has disbanded their fire department and has
requested removal from the Association;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota,
that:
The revised Exhibit A dated 2/1/99, which includes the City of Maple Grove and
deletes V. A. Medical Center is hereby approved as the new official list of parties to
the agreement establishing the Southwest Mutual Aid Association; and that the
proper city officials are directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City as a
participating member of the Association.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Micks
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson,
Johnson, LeSuer, and Micks; and the following was absent: Bakken; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
