• Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:

RESOLUTION FORWARDING THE TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT OF THE
GOLDEN VALLEY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT BY
OUTSIDE AGENCIES INCLUDING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley adopted a Comprehensive Plan, including a
Transportation Element, in 1982; and
WHEREAS, the state legislature requires that the comprehensive plans of local
governments be in conformance with metropolitan system plans prepared by the
Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has undertaken extensive review and analysis
of the City's Transportation issues and opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City has prepared an updated Transportation Element of the
Comprehensive Plan in accordance with the metropolitan system statements; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, following a public hearing on these
documents, has recommended their approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a formal public hearing to consider the
Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan on June 14, 1999;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley that the updated Transportation Plan be hereby forwarded for review and approval
by neighboring communities, the Metropolitan Council, and other applicable government
agencies prior to their final adoption as provided in state law.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Bakken
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson,
Bakken, Johnson, LeSuer, and Micks; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
