• Member Micks introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION APPROVING TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL AGREEMENT
RELATING TO HIGHWAY 169 AND MEDICINE LAKE ROAD
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as
follows:
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hennepin County, the
City of New Hope and the City of Golden Valley (the City) have been considering State
Project No 2772-23, the installation of a new traffic control signal with streetlights,
emergency vehicle pre-emption and signing on Trunk Highway 169 at the East ramps on
Medicine Lake Road in the City (the Project), and
WHEREAS, Project No. 2772-23 will require the City to pay to the State a portion of
the cost of the Project, all as detailed more fully in the Minnesota Transportation
Department Traffic Control Signal Agreement No. 78426R between the State of Minnesota,
Department of Transportation and the County of Hennepin and the City of Golden Valley
and the City of New Hope (the Agreement).
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the City's share of Project 2772-23 is $13,722.75,
plus 50 percent of the cost of providing the electrical power supply to the signal, and
• WHEREAS, the City will have ongoing costs associated with the completed Project,
including 50 percent of the cost of electrical power for the signal light, and 50 percent of the
cost of performing certain maintenance tasks, all as detailed in the Agreement, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to approve the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Golden
Valley that:
1. That the above recitals are incorporated by reference.
2. That the Agreement is approved.
3. That the Mayor and Manager are authorized and directed to sign the
Agreement.
4. That City staff is authorized and directed to take such actions as are
reasonable and necessary to implement the Agreement.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member LeSuer
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson,
Bakken, Johnson, LeSuer, and Micks; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
