00-34 - 06-20 - FAILED Request Modification TH 100 Segment 1 Construction Plans Sound Wall Vicinity of Breck School THE COUNCIL DID NOT CONSIDER THIS RESOLUTION Resolution 00-34 June 20, 2000 Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REQUESTING A MODIFICATION TO THE APPROVED TRUNK HIGHWAY 100 SEGMENT 1 CONSTRUCTION PLANS BY ELIMINATING A PLANNED SOUND WALL IN THE VICINITY OF BRECK SCHOOL WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is improving Trunk Highway 100 within the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the plans for the project have previously been approved by the City; and WHEREAS, Breck School, located at 123 Ottawa Avenue North, has requested that a section of sound wall on the east side of Trunk Highway 100 in the vicinity of Breck School be eliminated resulting in a gap in sound wall of approximately 200 feet; and WHEREAS, the MnDOT has indicated that the predicted daytime sound levels for Breck School, and the predicted daytime and nighttime sound levels for the surrounding residential areas will not exceed state standards because of the removal of the wall; and WHEREAS, the Golden Valley City Council has held a public hearing consider this request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Golden Valley hereby requests that the planned sound wall on the east side of T.H. 100 in the vicinity of Breck School be eliminated from the construction plans for the project resulting in a gap of approximately 200 feet.
