Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL
AGREEMENT NO. 80529R WITH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION FOR INSTALLATION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE
PREEMPTION (EVP) SYSTEMS AT CERTAIN QUALIFYING INTERSECTIONS
CITY PROJECT NO. 00 SI 3
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as
follows:
To revise the existing traffic control signals with streetlights, emergency vehicle
preemption and appurtenances at the following intersections:
1. Glenwood Avenue (CSAH 40) and the Trunk Highway 100 East Ramps;
2. Glenwood Avenue (CSAH 40) and the Trunk Highway 100 West Ramps;
3. Xenia Avenue at Golden Hills Drive;
4. Xenia Avenue and the Trunk Highway 394 North Ramps; and
5. Trunk Highway 55 at Theodore Wirth Parkway.
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)
participates in the funding of EVP systems in accordance with their cost sharing policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Golden
Valley that:
1. That the above recitals are incorporated by reference.
2. That the Agreement is approved.
3. That the Mayor and Manager are authorized and directed to sign the Agreement.
4. That City staff is authorized and directed to take such actions as are reasonable
and necessary to implement the Agreement.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Bakken
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson,
Bakken, Johnson, LeSuer, and Micks; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
