00-67 - 10-03 - Waive Public Hearing Special Assessments Demolition 4820 Olson Memorial Highway Resolution 00-67 October 3, 2000 Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION WAIVING THE PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUES 429.031 AND ORDERING CERTIFICATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON DEMOLITION OF 4820 OLSON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY Project Years Interest Rate First Year Levy Total Assessed 2000 Building 3 7% 2001 $117,600.00 Demolition 1. Each individual address (lots) will be assessed the full value of the signed contract with the property owner for building demolition. 2. The proposed assessments are hereby adopted and confirmed as the proper assessments for each of said property respectively together with interest at the rate of seven (7) percent per annum accruing on the full amount thereof unpaid, shall be a lien concurrent with general taxes upon parcel and all thereof. The total amount of each such assessment not prepaid shall be payable in equal annual principal installments extending over a period of 3 years, as indicated in each case. 3. The first of said installments, together with interest on the entire assessment for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2001, will be payable with general taxes for the year of 2000, collectible in 2001, and one of each of the remaining installments, together with one year's interest on that and all other unpaid installments, will be paid with general taxes for each consecutive year thereafter unless the entire assessment is paid in full by November 30, 2000. 4. The owner may pay off the assessment in full after November 30, 2000 with interest accrued to December 31 of the year in which such payment is made. Such payment must be made before November 15 or interest will be charged through December 31 of the succeeding year. 5. The City Clerk shall, as soon as may be, prepare and transmit to the County Auditor a certified duplicate of the assessment roll, with each installment and interest on each unpaid assessment set forth separately, to be extended upon the proper tax lists of the County and the County Auditor shall thereafter collect said assessment in the manner provided by law.
