01-37 - 06-18 - Establish Public Hearing Vacate Portion Platted Drainage Utility Easements Plat of Allianz Life USA Addition PUD No 87 Resolution 01-37 June 18, 2001 Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC HEARING ON JULY 17, 2001 TO CONSIDER VACATION OF A PORTION OF CERTAIN PLATTED DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS IN THE PLAT OF ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87 WHEREAS, a portion of certain drainage and utility easements as platted in the plat of ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87, are no longer needed and the City desires to consider vacation of portions of these platted drainage and utility easements legally described as follows: Those parts of the drainage and utility easements as dedicated in Lot 1 and Lot 2, Block 1, ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87, according to the record plat thereof, Hennepin County, Minnesota, described as being a 12.00 foot wide strip of land lying 6 feet on each side of the following described Line "A": Line "A" is described as beginning at a point on the east line of said Lot 2, distant 33.00 feet northerly of the southeast corner of said Lot 2; thence northerly along the easterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 250.00 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence westerly along a northerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 150.00 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence northerly along an easterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 30.02 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence westerly along the northerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 221.20 feet to a corner of said Lot 2 and a point hereinafter referred to as "Point A"; thence southwesterly along the northwesterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 72.20 feet to a corner of said Lot 2; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 194.91 feet to a point on the west line of said Lot 2, distant 10.00 feet northerly of the most westerly southwest corner of said Lot 2 and said line there terminating. The sidelines of said 12.00 foot wide strip of land are to be prolonged or shortened, so as to begin on a line 66.00 feet northerly of and parallel with the northwesterly line of said Lot 1. Together with that part of said drainage and utility easement which lies northwesterly of the following described Line "B" and which lies southeasterly of a line 51.50 feet southeasterly of and parallel with the northwesterly line of said Lot 1: Line "B" is described as commencing at the aforementioned "Point A"; thence northeasterly, along the northeasterly extension of the northwesterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 20.00 feet to the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence southwesterly, along said northwesterly line and its northeasterly and southwesterly extensions, a distance of 100.00 feet and said line there terminating. Resolution 01-37 - Continued June 18, 2001 Together with that part of said drainage and utility easement which lies easterly of the following described Line "C" and which lies westerly of a line 20.00 feet easterly of and parallel with the following described Line "C": Line "C" is described as commencing at the southeast corner of said Lot 2; thence northerly, along the east line of said Lot 2, a distance of 33.00 feet to the westerly extension of a north line of said drainage and utility easement; (said north line being a line 66.00 feet northerly of and parallel with the south line of said Lot 1) thence easterly along said northerly line and its westerly extension, a distance of 30.96 feet to the southwest corner of a 20.00 foot wide portion of said drainage and utility easement and the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence northerly, along the westerly line of said 20.00 foot wide portion, a distance of 30.00 feet to the northwest corner of said 20.00 foot wide portion and said line there terminating. Together with that part of said drainage and utility easement which lies easterly of the following described Line "D" and which lies westerly of a line 5.00 feet easterly of and parallel with the following described Line "D": Line "D" is described as commencing at the southeast corner of said Lot 2; thence northerly, along the east line of said Lot 2, a distance of 33.00 feet to the westerly extension of a north line of said drainage and utility easement; (said north line being a line 66.00 feet northerly of and parallel with the south line of said Lot 1) thence easterly along said northerly line and its westerly and easterly extensions, a distance of 380.84 feet to a corner of said drainage and utility easement; thence northerly, along a westerly line of said drainage and utility easement, a distance of 49.33 feet to an angle point of said westerly line; thence northerly, along said westerly line, a distance of 77.87 feet to an angle point in said westerly line; thence northerly, along said westerly line and its northerly extension, a distance of 121.59 feet to the northeast corner of a 20.00 foot wide portion of said drainage and utility easement; thence westerly, along the north line of said northwest corner of said 20.00 foot wide portion and the point of beginning of said line to be described; thence southerly, along the westerly line of said 20.00 foot wide portion, a distance of 20.00 feet to the southwest corner of said 20.00 foot wide portion and said line there terminating. Together with that part of said drainage and utility easement which lies southerly of the following described Line "E" and which lies northerly of a line 6.00 feet southerly of and parallel with the following described Line "E": Resolution 01-37 - Continued June 18, 2001 Line "E" is described as commencing at the southeast corner of said Lot 2; thence northerly, along the east line of said Lot 2, a distance of 33.00 feet to the westerly extension of a north line of said drainage and utility easement; (said north line being a line 66.00 feet northerly of and parallel with the south line of said Lot 1) thence easterly along said northerly line and its westerly extension, a distance of 28.00 feet to the northwest corner of a 6.00 foot wide portion of said drainage and utility easement and the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence continuing easterly along the last described course, a distance of 88.00 feet to the northeast corner of said 6.00 foot wide portion and said line there terminating. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Golden Valley hereby schedules a public hearing on Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. to consider vacation of a portion of certain platted drainage and utility easements in the plat of ALLIANZ LIFE USA ADDITION P.U.D. NO. 87.
