01-65 - 10-16 - Support School District Referendum Resolution 01-65 October 16, 2001
Member Bakken introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SCHOOL DISTRICT REFERENDUM
WHEREAS, City and School Districts have developed strong cooperative working
relationships, and
WHEREAS, City and School Districts work together to serve families and children in
our communities, and
WHEREAS, City and School Districts are committed to maximizing the services
provided by the tax dollar,
WHEREAS, a strong education system benefits a democracy and all citizens, and
WHEREAS, strong School Districts attract residents to the community, which
supports real estate values, maintaining homeowners investments,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Golden Valley
supports the referendum levies of our two School Districts and urges our citizens to vote
yes.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member LeSuer
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Anderson,
Bakken, Johnson and LeSuer; and the following was absent: Micks, and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
