01-68 - 11-20 - Authorize Grant and Agreement Natural Resources Invesntory Resolution 01-68 November 20, 2001 Member LeSuer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION AND EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR A NATURAL RESOURCES INVENTORY WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has matching funds available for natural resource inventories and natural resource and/or greenways plans through the Metro Greenways Planning Grant Program; and WHEREAS, a need has been identified to conduct a comprehensive natural resources inventory or natural resources plan for local planning purposes. BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Golden Valley is applying for a Metro Greenways Planning Grant and has the legal authority to apply for financial assistance, and has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to ensure that all aspects of the proposed project will be completed; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Golden Valley will share in the costs of the proposed project with the DNR by providing a cash or in-kind match totaling at least 50% of the proposed project costs; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon approval of its application, the City of Golden Valley may enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the above project and that the City of Golden Valley certifies that it will comply with all aspects of the grant agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden Valley that the Golden Valley Environmental Coordinator is hereby authorized to execute the grant agreement as necessary to implement the project on behalf of the eligible applicant.
