03-04 - 01-07 - Authorize Control Signal Agreement - General Mills Blvd Resolution 03-4 January 7, 2003 Member Tremere introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL AGREEMENT NO. 84295R WITH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND RELATED APPURTENANCES AT GENERAL MILLS BOULEVARD AND THE 1-394 TERMINI AND AT GENERAL MILLS BOULEVARD AND BETTY CROCKER DRIVE WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 161.20 authorizes the Commissioner of Transportation to enter into agreements with any governmental authority for the purpose of improving the highway system; and, WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley wishes to comply with the recommendations set forth in the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the General Mills Headquarters Expansion, and that said document notes the need for traffic signal installation in three locations on General Mills Boulevard; and, WHEREAS, it is in the public's best interest for the signals to be installed. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the above recitals are incorporated by reference. 2. That the Agreement is approved. 3. That the Mayor and Manager are authorized and directed to sign the Agreement. 4. That City staff is authorized and directed to take such actions as are reasonable and necessary to implement the Agreement. 4ihrdia R. Loomis, Mayo ATTEST: Donald G. Taylor, Jerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Johnson and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Grayson, Johnson, LeSuer, Loomis and Tremere; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
