03-48 - 10-07 - Grant for Drug Policy & Violence Prevention Resolution 03-48 October 7, 2003
Member Tremere introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF GOLDEN VALLEY TO
ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLIC SAFETY - OFFICE OF DRUG POLICY AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Police Department is a participating member of the
Northwest Metro Drug Task Force, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, supports the
goals of the Drug Task Force, and
WHEREAS, the member police departments share responsibilities for coordinating
and managing the Task Force, and
WHEREAS, one of the member police departments must be designated as the
coordinating agency and fiscal agent for the Task Force, and
WHEREAS, the Golden Valley Police Department has indicated its willingness to
assume these responsibilities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, that the City of Golden Valley enter into a cooperative agreement with
the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Drug Policy and Prevention on behalf
of the member agencies of the Northwest Metro Drug Task Force; and that Robert J.
Hernz, Director of Public Safety, is authorized to execute such agreements and
addendums, as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the Northwest Metro
Drug Task Force.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Grayson
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Grayson,
Johnson, LeSuer and Tremere; and the following was absent: Loomis; and the following
voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
