Member Tremere introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION OF THE EAW FOR THE
TH 55/130ONE AVENUE NORTH FLOODPLAIN AND WETLAND MITIGATION PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF SAME AND
SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley is the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU)
for the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) prepared for the proposed TH
55/Boone Avenue North Floodplain and Wetland Mitigation Project; and,
WHEREAS, the EAW is based on a proposed project which involves excavating 10
acres of existing wetlands and grading 11 acres of upland to create up to 72 acre-feet of
floodplain storage and up to 9 acres of wetland mitigation; and,
WHEREAS, the City has presented the EAW to its advisory Commissions and
desires to begin public review of the EAW.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley, Minnesota as follows:
1. The Council hereby determines that the EAW is complete.
2. The Council hereby directs staff to submit the EAW to the Environmental Quality
Board (EQB) as well as to all required agencies and to request that the EQB
publish a notice regarding the availability of the EAW and the opportunity for
public comment in the EQB Monitor and the City's official newspaper.
3. That a public hearing is scheduled for January 20, 2004 at 7:00 pm to consider
the comments received, the responses prepared by staff, and to determine
whether or not there is a need for additional environmental review.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Johnson
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Grayson,
Johnson, LeSuer, Loomis and Tremere; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
