Member Pentel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING 2005 GENERAL WAGES, SALARIES,
MONTHLY BENEFIT CONTRIBUTION AND STANDARD MILEAGE RATE
FOR ALL NON-UNION PERSONNEL
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley that it hereby
adopts the following general wages and salaries, benefits and mileage schedule for all
non-union personnel for the year 2005, said schedule to commence for work performed by
the personnel named herein effective as of January 1, 2005.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
1. The dollar amount of the City's contribution for all non-management employees for
benefits will be $609.00 per month effective January 1, 2005. The City will also pay
the cost of group term life IRS maximum taxable level and group disability insurance
for those employees.
2. The dollar amount of the City's contribution for all employees classified under
Management Team and/or Division Head/Supervisor categories for benefits will be
$630 per month plus 2% of monthly salary effective January 1, 2005. The City will
also pay the cost of group term life IRS maximum taxable level and group disability
insurance for those employees.
3 The mileage reimbursement rate for the use of an employee's personal vehicle on
City business shall be 40.5¢ per mile effective January 1, 2005 (as per IRS rules for
computing the value of personal use of an employer-supplied vehicle under the
vehicle-cents-per-mile rule). Employees who receive a car allowance are not eligible
to receive reimbursement for mileage, except under special circumstances where
approved by the City Manager in advance. This applies to the following positions
which receive car allowances: Director of Public Works, Director of Public Safety,
Director of Park and Recreation, Director of Planning and Development, City
Engineer, Public Works Maintenance Manager and Deputy Chief of Police.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Grayson
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg,
Grayson, Loomis, Pentel and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
