05-10 - 02-15 - Funds Request by 5 Cities Senior Transportation Project Resolution 05-10 February 15, 2005 Member Grayson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FUNDING REQUEST BY FIVE CITIES SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FROM 2005 CONSOLIDATED POOL - URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Golden Valley was one of the founding members of the Five Cities Senior Transportation Project in 1985; and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley has provided continual financial support for the Project from the City's General Fund and with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds allocated to the City of Golden Valley because of the demonstrated need that has proved by the number of rides provided to seniors each year since 1985; and WHEREAS, the need for such senior transportation will continue to grow in upcoming years; and WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley no longer has its own CDBG allocation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Golden Valley that it supports the funding request by the Five Cities Senior Transportation Project from the 2005 Consolidated Pool that is part of the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program. 1 Linda R. Taylor, Ei erk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Freiberg and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg, Grayson, Loomis, Pentel and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
