Member Freiberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION DUTIES TO HENNEPIN COUNTY
FOR A THREE-YEAR PERIOD COMMENCING IN 2006
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes allow cities to transfer the local Board of
Equalization duties to the County if said city contracts with the county for assessment
services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley currently contracts with Hennepin County for
annual assessment services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Golden Valley desires to transfer the duties of the local
Board of Equalization to Hennepin County for a period of three years beginning in 2006;
and
WHEREAS, the City has considered the matter pursuant to the requirements of M.S.
274.01, subd, 3.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden
Valley at follows:
1. The City of Golden Valley hereby transfers the duties of the local Board of
Equalization to Hennepin County for a three years period commencing with the 2006
review/equalization process.
2. The City Council further directs the City Manager to notify the County Assessor in
writing of this action.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Grayson
and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg,
Grayson, Loomis, Pentel and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor
and her signature attested by the City Clerk.
